Rainbow Pride Flag - Progress

  • Rainbow Pride Flag - Progress
$9.99

The first rainbow flag was created by Gilbert Baker in 1978 and had 8 stripes. By 1979 is was down to 6. In 2018 Daniel Quasar designed a new flag. This one took the 6 strip Gilbert Baker design and added the black and brown stripes of the Philadelphia Pride Flag to include people of color, and then added the blue, pink, and white of the trans pride flag. This inclusive flag would have 11 stripes, and that seems excessive. Instead of adding them as more stripes, Daniel left the 5 stripes, and added the 5 new colors as chevrons on the hoist side of the flag to show the progress being made.
